The Meaning of R. J. Spindle

Over six months ago I wrote a quick version of this page in the middle of the night.  Now, it is minutes before I have to be at work, and I find myself wanting something new.

What is R. J. Spindle?

R. = Rhiannon, the muse and editor.

J. = Joey, the story generating machine.

Spindle = a symbol of our common origin: Lowell, Massachusetts.

Together we are living our dream, and writing stories that have been lodged in our heads as long as we can remember.  We’ve completely given up trying to figure out why we were destined to write what we are writing, since the pile of evidence for fate grew too staggering.  We’ve just accepted the pleasure of it.

On this site you can expect to find blogs from both of us on varying topics, most of the time mundane (but important to us).  We also do commentaries on some of the books we read, which do two things for us: help us remember books we’ve read, and provide valuable notes as research for honing in on our storytelling capabilities.

You’ll find a lot of ridiculousness on this site.  The intention of it only being to amuse others as it amuses us.  Just have fun with it, because that’s all we’re doing.
